Darkness Dwellers
Darkness Dwellers asks children to imagine the world without any light. Drawing from nature for inspiration, they design ‘stick people’ with special features and powers to live in a world of darkness.
The Eden Project produces some of our favourite lessons. Always practical and fun, they invite our younger people to connect with the natural world in new and unusual ways.
In this resource, Darkness Dwellers, after a series of games and challenges, pupils are asked: Human Beings have evolved as hunters in a world of light. They have eyes that look forward, ears at the side of our heads, upright bodies for running with our arms free.
If we had evolved to live in the dark, how might our bodies look different and what special abilities might we have evolved?
