Sounds Interesting!
Using the Sound Collector poem by Roger McGough, children are given the chance to collect their very own sounds in a lesson perfect for creative writing skills. Sounds Interesting?
‘A stranger called this morning, dressed all in black and grey, put every sound into a bag and carried them away…’ The opening lines provide a wonderful opportunity for imaginations to run wild.
The lesson, Sounds Interesting, is accompanied by two games and differentiated planning boards. It ends with an invitation to pupils to perform their poem, replete with actions and sound effects.
