Based on the wonderful text We’re Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen, pupils retell the well known story. Their versions will come alive as they introduce a new character. Finally, contributing to a class book. Come on, it's time, We're Going on a Big Hunt!
Great fun will be had changing the story’s obstacles: instead of grass, what can it be?
Working outside (especially in a wooded area) will support the children in having imaginative responses as they could describe the real-life obstacles they encounter.
Bring it to life by using actions and sound effects, perhaps even map this new journey by unravelling a ball of string as you go; this will help with sequencing, especially when you need to dash back along the route!
